SALES/MARKETING REP
Reports to: General Manager

1. Summary of Duties:

The Sales/Marketing Representative reports to the General Manager, and is responsible for conducting a wide range of sales activities in support of the company including the implementation and administration of the applicable sections of the corporate strategic plan.

The incumbent will work a non-standard schedule with some weekend and night work. Job-related stress will range from minimal to high. The incumbent is responsible for his/her achievement of sales/marketing quotas, and frequently needs to work under pressures of time and adverse conditions. Job-related contacts include all corporate employees, purchasing agents, plant engineers, architects, design engineers, estimators, potential or actual CHC Mechanical customers and senior employees of customer companies, etc. Representative duties include:

Establishing the company's sales philosophy, including sales-related policies, objectives, quotas, and budgets, in cooperation with the General Manager.

Developing and implementing HVAC & Plumbing related sales programs and promotional campaigns.

Securing orders and renewals from existing customers by means of on-site calls, telephone contacts, and tailored letters.

Securing orders from potential customers by means of on-site calls, telephone contacts and letters.

Conducting post-sale follow-up with customers to ensure all sales agreements have been accomplished, and customers are satisfied with all aspects of the transaction.

Maintaining a working relationship with service, and installation departments to ensure familiarity with services and products offered, and roles.

Maintaining liaison with product representatives and local suppliers to stay abreast of product lines, promotions, trends and changes.

Maintaining and improving his or her sales skills and HVACR and Plumbing knowledge through self-study, product seminars, corporate training, and self-improvement courses.

Selling service and maintenance agreements, following up with all the customers who are sold an agreement to ensure the agreement is renewed.

Maintaining written and electronic records of sales-related leads, contacts, referrals, suspense items, future opportunities, follow-ups, and key names and addresses.

Participating in corporate sales promotions.

Responding to written and telephone inquiries that are sales-related, or could lead to a sales-related dialogue.

Attending civic, professional, government, and social activities as directed or approved by the General Manager.

Coordination with all other Project Managers to ensure optimal customer service.

Conducting himself/herself in a professional manner to echo the ethical standards of the corporation.

Performing related sales duties as directed by the General Manager.

2. Job Qualifications:

At least 5 years of experience in sales, sales management, and marketing, preferably in HVAC or building-related fields.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with all demographic groups in the HVAC field, including customers, suppliers and employees of CHC Mechanical.

Excellent leadership skills, in order to manage the company resources in an efficient and effective manner, keeping morale and productivity high.

Ability to work under pressure and on a flexible schedule.

Have two or more years of post-secondary education in sales, marketing, business or engineering. A B.S. in business engineering or marketing preferred.

Be a skilled and experienced salesperson with a proven record of direct sales experience, including a record as a strong sales closer and successful experience in sales and marketing-related fields.

Possessing excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to sell to a wide range of customers; e.g. residential, commercial and industrial.

Physical ability to conduct sales work-ups on actual job-sites, and under adverse weather conditions.

Current Tennessee drivers license. Incumbent must be insurable by current CHC Mechanical insurance carrier.

Be a self-motivated, extrovert, tactful, organized, goals-oriented professional.

Familiarity with the following computer software programs: Excel or Lotus 1-2-3, and Microsoft Word or WordPerfect 5.1 or higher.
